Why Masukani Kiyona Exists

Across Zambia, communities continue to face complex and interconnected challenges. Mental health needs remain under-addressed. Economic vulnerability affects household stability. Access to accurate sexual and reproductive health information and services remains uneven.

In recent years, the closure of several donor-funded programmes has intensified uncertainty for communities that relied on consistent support. While projects ended, the needs did not.

Masukani Kiyona was established as a local response to this gap. Our founding team chose to remain present, organise responsibly and build an institution designed for long-term partnership rather than short-term intervention.
